The Engineering Division is responsible for the administration, design and management of all City projects that improve roads, sidewalks, sewers, storm drains, street lighting, traffic signals and City structures, which are collectively known as the public infrastructure. The division produces and maintains the maps, drawings, and records of the City’s facilities within the public right-of-way as well as subdivision maps and assists the public with engineering related matters.
The Engineering Division is also responsible for managing capital improvement projects such as repairing streets and sidewalks, repaving streets, addressing traffic safety issues, maintaining flood control, and reviewing engineering design for development, infrastructure, and community facility projects.
Public Works Inspections:
The City of Hawaiian Gardens Engineering Division must be notified prior to scheduling the work and at least seventy-two (72) hours before the start of work to arrange an inspection. Notification may be made by phone at (562) 420-2541, extension 216, or via email at projectmanager@hgcity.org
