The city of Hawaiian Gardens is proud of its legacy of open and transparent government in service to the people.

Budget meetings are open to the public and are also presented by video through our city cable TV channel and website.

Financial information including copies of annual independent financial audits is available online. All city council and commission meetings are open to the public. The public has a right to voice its opinions during designated times at these meetings.

Ethics and Financial Training 

Assembly Bill 1234 requires local agency officials, department heads, and designated employees to complete two hours of public service ethics training every two years. 

Fiscal and Financial Training

Senate Bill 827 requires local agency officials and local agency executives who make decisions or recommendations regarding financial administration, budgeting, or the use of public resources as part of their official duties; to complete a two-hour fiscal and financial training every two years.

 

Availability of Ethics and Financial Training Certificates

Copies of Ethics Training and Financial Training Certificates completed by applicable officials, commission members, and employees may be obtained by submitting a Public Records Request or contacting the City Clerk’s Office (562) 420-2641 x 240, cityclerk@hgcity.org.
